Easter Weekend

What is Easter? We planned to go to different churches over at good friday but just ended up at going to 2.

The next day we went to Echuca by train for three hours. We woke up early to prepare tuna sandwiches for everyone. It was good - filled with lots of yummy tuna and love. In the train ride, we entertained ourselves by eating a lot of junk food while reading a book or playing DS. We then trekked from the train station to the Port for 20 mins and bought a ticket to ride their famous steam paddle boat - we almost did not make it as the 2:30pm boat was already full, we got the ticket for the last one at 3:45. We then looked for a place to eat and ended up eating at Cherry Blossoms. I ate grilled fish with veggies on side which was so scrumptious that I ate every bit of it. Nothing was left in my plate apart from the slice of lemon that I squeezed over the dish. I really enjoyed the food and also for the fact that it was already past 1 pm and I haven't eaten anything filling yet. We then proceeded to go to the port which has a strip that looked like an old town similar to Ballarat. There also were big horses pulling old style carriages. I immediately missed Manila's kalesas. We then spent our time roaming around the museum while waiting for our boat. It was a hot day, the sun was scorching our skin giving us a bit of a tan. We were having fun talking about different things and taking photos of each other. On one part of the port, there was a signage and a gate that represents the boundarybetween Victoria and New South Wales. We took time taking photos and thinking about the cliche, that we are on two places at one time - one foot stepping at Victoria and the other at New South Wales. Hahaha such madness. The boat ride was relaxing and fun. After the boat ride we went for a last hurrah by eating ice cream and then walked back again to the train station to wait for our bus that is to depart by 5:50pm. It was an uneventful bus ride which was good. We saw the sun set on the way home which was very nice and romantic. We then arrived the city before 9pm and having bullied a friend to cook us dinner - we went to his place and ate roast chicken. mmmm yummy.

The weekend did not end with the trip. Sunday we went to watch the Great Debate at Comedy Fest. The cast was good and I particulary liked the affirmative side - they were more creative and funny. They were debating whether or not money is the root of all evil. After the show, we went to eat dinner at our friend's place. Jon was sick the whole day :( huhuhu - probably due to all the junk food the day before. Monday - we just stayed home to do the rest of our chores and to relax and renew energy for the working day to come.
